“The Last Bloom Visitor Centre” wins the 2025 NYC Midnight Flash Fiction Challenge
From an original field of over 3,000 writers around the world, and after three rounds of writing, we finally have a winner of the Flash Fiction Challenge 2025! Congratulations to Leila Murton Poole (Beaconsfield, UK) for winning the competition with her final round story, “The Last Bloom Visitor Center.” This marks Leila’s first Flash win, but her 5th win overall in our challenges! In the final round, Leila and 65 other writers were challenged to create a story no longer than 1,000 words based on a genre (Open), location (A visitor center/centre), and object (leftover food).
